Home Selling for the Holidays
Selling a home can be a challenge any time, especially during the holidays!
You read it all over the place, “de-clutter” when you’re selling your home. That’s right get rid of almost everything you’re not using, so when it comes to the holidays there is more to consider.
If you’re one who usually decorates the house keep in mind that it’s helpful to do less if your home is for sale during the holidays. You’ve heard that saying, less is more in many things is so true. Keep things neat, tidy and uncluttered.
If you normally have a string of Christmas cards hung in the family room, or have them setting around, don’t this year, again keep it simple.
I’m from a family of “Christmas junkies” I think it’s genetic. Most of us boxes, bins and tubs of holiday everything, while it’s fun to drag out each year I’d keep it to an absolute minimum if my house were for sale. Remember you want buyers to see your home and not your things!
And since it’s the holidays you might have visitors or house guests for a while, be sure they participate in your home selling process by keeping extras including luggage out of sight during showings.
Happy holiday home selling!
