Your Home’s Appeal Begins at the Curb – Home Selling First Impressions

Home selling 101, everything you’ve heard about the importance a first impression in home selling, it’s true! Buyers can, and often do form a quick first impression before they step inside.

Okay, welcome to home selling 101, class begins right now.

If you’re thinking of selling your home remember it’s first things first. Take a good look…a good  l-o-n-g look at the condition of your home long before your buyer would enter.   That’s right begin out side…even better begin across the street.

Take the time to walk across the street and stand in front of your neighbors house, then turn around and take an objective  look at yours.  That’s where it begins, that’s where you create the value of curb appeal.

Buyers form an opinion right from the get-go, meaning even before they get close. If you have over grown shrubbery or trees, trim them ahead of time so buyers can see your home from the street. All too often a house is obscured by overgrown shrubs.

Pay particular attention to the lawn, get rid of the bare/brown spots if you have them. There is nothing better than a beautiful green lawn to say welcome come. And he’re’s another tip, a beautiful green lawn is a little more forgiving to the look of exterior paint that looks a little faded.

Speaking of paint, take a look at the front door, tired or worn? Take the time to give it a quick coat to perk things up! You may not need to paint the entire house, yet be sure the entrance looks inviting.
